Vladimir Putin to Take Part in Russian Energy Week 2018

Russian President Vladimir Putin will take part in the plenary session ‘Sustainable Energy for a Changing World’ during the Russian Energy Week International Forum. The discussion will also be attended by Minister of Energy, Industry, and Mineral Resources of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Khalid A. Al-Falih, Royal Dutch Shell Plc CEO Ben van Beurden, Fortum Corporation President Pekka Lundmark, Total CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors Patrick Pouyanne, and Enel S.p.A CEO Francesco Starace.

The plenary session will be moderated by TV presenter and PBS NewsHour special correspondent Ryan Chilcote.

The speakers will discuss such issues as: what will the global energy industry be like tomorrow and what priority tasks need to be achieved to ensure reliable energy supplies to the largest macroregions of the planet and each country individually and on this basis to enhance the competitiveness of national economies and improve the quality of life of millions of people. The plenary session participants also plan to identify the most important trends that will determine the overall energy future for all mankind.

This marks the second year in a row that Russian Energy Week will be the central venue for a discussion of the main challenges involving the development of the energy sector. The forum will take place at the Central Exhibition Hall ‘Manege’ in Moscow on 3–6 October 2018.
