Vera Shcherbacheva, Head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Administration of the Governor of the Samara Region, and Mr. Yun Chenghan, Director of the Anhui Province Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Republic of China, agreed to develop cooperation between the parties in industry, science, education and tourism.
The meeting was held in the format of video-conferencing. The purpose of the interaction was to discuss promising areas for the development of cooperation between the Samara region and the Chinese province of Anhui in the trade, economic, scientific, technical and socio-cultural spheres.
The investment potential of the province was presented to the guests of the region by the head of the investment attraction department of the Samara region Rustam Ilingin. He described in detail the benefits of developing investment projects in the region, spoke about support measures and platforms that are most suitable for the implementation of new investment projects.
The Samara region and Anhui have great potential for cooperation, including in the space sector. The province has already established a laboratory for the development of quantum technologies and opened a branch of the Beijing Aerospace University.
There is interest from Chinese partners in tourism and culture. The authorities are planning to establish direct contacts between tour operators of the Samara region and Anhui and hold exhibitions and fairs of Chinese goods in the Volga region.
At the end of the negotiations, the parties agreed that all proposals would be submitted to potential investors in China. In addition, Mr. Yun invited the Samara region to take part in the conference of industrialists, which will be held in September this year in Anhui province.
It should be reminded that Samara Region and Anhui Province have been partner regions for more than five years. An agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian cooperation between the region and Anhui Province was signed in 2016.
Anhui Province is an important economic link connecting the east and west of China. A large metropolis inhabited by 60 million inhabitants. Anhui is home to the headquarters of well-known Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturers: JAC Motors and Chery Automobile. The production capacities of the plants allow the production of over half a million sedans, minivans, pickups, electric vehicles and trucks per year.
