On Thursday, May 26, Mr. Ismet Erikan, Consul General of Turkey in Kazan, visited Togliatti. The guest of honor of the region visited the industrial park «Zhiguli Valley», the special economic zone «Togliatti» and the industrial park «AVTOVAZ». The two-day business visit was organized by the Investment Promotion Agency of the Samara Region on the initiative of the Regional Government and the Ministry of Economic Development of the region.
Creating a favorable investment climate is one of the key tasks in the work of the region's management team headed by Governor Dmitry Azarov. Today, the Samara region is chosen by many Russian and foreign companies for the implementation of their projects. Here they are provided with comprehensive support: developed investment sites, special tax regimes, a wide range of support measures, and administrative support.
The purpose of the visit of the Turkish delegation was to discuss promising areas for the development of cooperation between the Samara region and Turkey in the trade, economic, scientific, technical, socio-cultural spheres.
In the Togliatti Special Economic Zone, employees of the management company gave the Consul General a tour of the investment site, told about the opportunities for investors, as well as the benefits and preferences that apply here for residents.
After the presentation of the potential of the SEZ, the Consul General visited the plant of LLC «Nobel Automotive Russia» (Turkey, the Netherlands), where he assessed the progress of production and talked with the management of the enterprise.

On the same day, a meeting was held in the «Zhiguli Valley» technopark, which was attended by the head of Togliatti Nikolai Renz, representatives of the city administration, resident companies of the «Zhiguli Valley», as well as the Volga State University of Service, Togliatti State University and the Togliatti Academy of Management.
The Turkish Consul General was presented with the possibilities of the «Zhiguli Valley» ecosystem, focusing his attention on interaction with federal and regional institutions to support innovative companies.
«The list of Turkish projects successfully implemented in Togliatti is very wide: construction, production of auto components are only a small part of the areas of our cooperation. For example, Turkish companies were the first to enter our commercial real estate market. The City Chamber of Commerce and Industry is already actively establishing contacts with colleagues in a number of Turkish cities, and I hope that with your help we will be able to attract new Turkish companies to further mutually beneficial cooperation», - said Nikolai Renz.
Representatives of the management company of the technopark presented to the foreign delegation the possibilities of the «Zhiguli Valley» ecosystem, focusing the attention of the Consul General on the interaction of the site with federal and regional support institutions for innovative companies.
During the meeting, the participants of the delegation were presented with presentations of promising projects of the residents of the «Zhiguli Valley». On the same day the delegation visited the AvtoVAZ industrial park.
Mr. Erikan proposed a whole range of cooperation between the Samara region and Turkey. «The Samara Region is one of the priority regions for the development of cooperation. Trade turnover between Turkey and the Samara region today is about $ 445 million per year. Tolyatti is of great importance to us, it is the second largest city in the Samara region, we are interested in developing our relations and are ready to fill the space that will be freed up from other foreign companies that have left the Russian market», - said the Consul General.
As a result of the meeting, a number of proposals were approved, involving cooperation in the field of tourism, education and innovation projects, and a number of cross-industry business missions were planned.
