Russians Donated over RUB 1.7 billion as part of #InThisTogether Initiative

On 27 March, #InThisTogether initiative started collecting funds for those in need of help during the pandemic. The initiative is launched by the All-Russia People’s Front, the Association of Volunteer Centres, Medical Volunteers (the all-Russian social movement of volunteers in the healthcare sector), Volunteers of the Constitution, with support from the Roscongress Foundation. Medical Volunteers continue collecting funds in their bank account, having amassed RUB 1,728,808,979 by now.

Employees of over 191 organizations have donated their wages to #InThisTogether initiative, collecting RUB 167,309,257 in total. Funds came from the staff of Russian Railways, Rosseti, Inter RAO, Rosatom, Roscosmos, ATEK, TGES, and others. They were joined by the staff of central and regional election committees, ASCON, and All-Russian Thermal Engineering Institute.

The largest contribution of RUB 155,260,533 came from the employees of Rosatom and its structures. ASCON employees donated a share of their wages for April and May, totalling RUB 374,000.

Volunteers use these funds to purchase groceries for the elderly and people with limited mobility. Additionally, the funds go towards medical professionals, medical and social organizations, towards procuring protection ware for volunteers and medical workers, and towards providing uninterrupted operations of volunteer centres.

The Roscongress Foundation pays a great deal of attention to social and charitable initiatives and promotes new formats of social projects. Aside from launching the #InThisTogether round-the-clock national hotline, the Foundation is helping doctors and other medical professionals entangled in fighting the spread of COVID-19. The Roscongress Foundation lends its media resources to various charitable concerts and fundraisers. Additionally, the Foundation supports the St. Petersburg Children’s Hospice and provides financing for the institution that found itself in a difficult economic situation.
