Профсоюзный форум войдет в программу саммита БРИКС в России

Adviser to the Russian President Anton Kobyakov and President of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia Mikhail Shmakov held a meeting in Moscow during which they paid special attention to the tentative agenda of the Trade Union Forum, which is traditionally included in the business agenda of the BRICS summit to be held in Chelyabinsk in 2020.

Shmakov noted that the participants in the Trade Union Forum would discuss such issues as structural transformation, industrial modernization, employment, flexible forms of employment, the protection of the rights and interests of workers, the development of vocational education, building harmonious production relations, and stimulating inclusive growth.

For his part, Kobyakov offered high praise for the work carried out by the Federation of Trade Unions to prepare previous events during BRICS summits both in Russia and abroad.

«Russian trade unions are all in favour of positioning BRICS as a new model of global relations. Despite the cultural, economic, and socio-political differences, we are united by the similarity of a number of social issues. I am certain that the BRICS format will enable us to work out solutions to improve the position of workers in developing economies and will provide a new impetus to interstate cooperation», Kobyakov said.

At the end of the meeting, the president of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions proposed considering the possibility of organizing trade union sections at the events of the Roscongress Foundation.
