On 29 June 2022 at 12:15, a session entitled ‘Notary Participation in Corporate Governance: Do Businesses Need Notarial Protection?’ is to be held as part of the 10th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.
The session is devoted to discussing the prospects for using the notarial element in corporate relations.
The discussants will talk about the role of the notary in protecting business, discuss what should guide lawmakers when deciding to introduce mandatory notarization of corporate decisions.
“Positive experience of using notaries in corporate life has expanded the notary’s role. When putting forward initiatives envisaging mandatory notarization of any procedures, it is important to remember that introduction of such imperative rules might often make corporate governance less flexible and, in general, affect regulation of civil relations,” stressed Maxim Beskhmelnitsyn, Deputy Minister of Justice.
The discussion participants will include Maxim Beskhmelnitsyn, Deputy Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation;Vitaly Kolesnikov, Deputy Head of the FTS of Russia; Konstantin Korsik, President of the Federal Notary Chamber;Natalya Borisenko, Chairperson of the Belarusian Notary Chamber; Viktor Blazheyev, Rector of the Kutafin Moscow State Law University, and Margarita Belyakova, head of Corporate and Legal Department at Metafrax Group.
