Ministry of Economic Development to hold the next Russia–Azerbaijan Interregional Forum in Baku

Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin and Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev will take part in the 9th Russia—Azerbaijan Interregional Forum. The event, which will be held in Baku on 27 September, aims to deepen ties between the regions of the two countries. The speakers and participants also include diplomats, regional leaders and the business community. The event is hosted by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy with the support of the Roscongress Foundation.

The 9th Russia—Azerbaijan Interregional Forum will take place on 27 September 2018 in Baku and will be attended by Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin and Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev.

The event aims to develop trade and economic ties between the regions of the two countries and will become a platform for joint work by the leaders of Russia and Azerbaijan, including relevant ministers and Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary from the two countries, as well as the business community and experts. On the Russian side, the event will be attended by the leaders of ten regions: the Arkhangelsk, Astrakhan, Ivanovo, Novgorod, Sverdlovsk, and Chelyabinsk Regions, the Stavropol and Perm Territories, as well as Dagestan and Udmurtia.

The event programme includes a plenary session with speeches by ministers Maxim Oreshkin and Shahin Mustafayev, diplomats, heads of business associations and the leaders of several Russian regions, a ministerial business breakfast for heads of regions and companies, an expanded meeting of the Azerbaijan—Russia and Russia—Azerbaijan Business Councils, as well as a series of roundtables: ‘Industry: Prospects for Bilateral Cooperation,’ ‘Development of Cooperation in Tourism,’ ‘Development of Cooperation in the Agricultural Sector,’ ‘Cooperation in Small and Medium-sized Businesses,’ ‘Strengthening Cooperation in the Humanitarian Sphere,’ ‘Strengthening Transportation and Transit Cooperation’ and ‘Prospects for Cooperation in the Development of Women’s Entrepreneurship.’

The Forum will feature a networking area to develop business ties between the business communities of Russian and Azerbaijani regions.

The event is traditionally organized by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development in cooperation with the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy with the support of the Roscongress Foundation.
