Deputy Chairwoman of the Russian Federation Council Galina Karelova held a meeting with members of the Council of the Eurasian Womens Forum (EWF). The third Eurasian Womens Forum will take place in St. Petersburg in September 2021. The Forum events will take place under the key theme of: Women a global mission in a new reality.
The meeting was attended by Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Gulnaz Kadyrova, Chairman of the Committee for the Development of Womens Entrepreneurship of the All-Russian Non-Government Organization of Small and Medium Businesses OPORA RUSSIA Nadiya Cherkasova, Deputy Director of the Department of Multilateral Economic Cooperation and Special Projects of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development Natalia Strigunova, Founder of the Association of Women in the Nuclear Industry Fund for Support and Development of Womens Initiatives Alexandra Ryabykh, Deputy CEO of the Roscongress Foundation and Director of the Roscongress Foundations social platform Innosocium Foundation Yelena Marinina, Corporate Director of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives Yelena Myakotnikova, Co-Chair of the G20 Financial Literacy Subgroup and Member of the Advisory Council of the International Network on Financial Education of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Anna Zelentsova, Executive Director of the Centre for the Development of Womens Entrepreneurship Veronika Peshkova, and NAFI Analytical Centre General Director Guzelia Imatova.
The meeting participants discussed proposals on the concept of the Forum, ways to expand partnerships between organizations headed by project coordinators of the EWF Council as well as topics that will be on the agenda of the third Eurasian Womens Forum 2021. They identified international cooperation and expanding the range of international organizations in order to promote womens causes in all areas as a priority area of work. The concept will be approved at a meeting of the EWF Organizing Committee, which is chaired by headed by Chairwoman of the Russian Federation Council Valentina Matvienko.
Deputy Chairwoman of the Russian Federation Council Galina Karelova noted that further developing international cooperation and implementing joint projects as part of prominent international platforms is a key focus of the Councils activities. «In recent years, work has intensified to develop the womens agenda both in Russia and around the world. Cooperation is developing effectively with international organizations and such associations as UNIDO, APEC, BRICS, and the Womens Twenty, among others», she said.
«An English version of the EWF platform will be launched in the near future and will allow us to take our work with international organizations to a new level», said Yelena Marinina, Deputy CEO of the Roscongress Foundation, Director of the Roscongress Foundations social platform Innosocium Foundation, and coordinator of the EWF Global Platform.
«We are constantly working to promote the establishment of international ties between Russian and global organizations that are leaders in the womens agenda, both on the sidelines of the Roscongress Foundations forums and as part of our own events. Having a single platform will enable us to expand the range of organizations with which we can cooperate on various topics of the womens agenda, actively involving women in all spheres of the economy, and achieving a gender balance and social wellbeing», she said.
The EWF Global Platform is already carrying out a wide range of work to further promote the womens agenda in Russia. It has become a single news platform for projects being implemented by the coordinators of the EWF Council and in general for news on gender and youth topics. All the Council members noted the great demand for the portal. The media has also covered the platform. For example, Forbes Woman included the EWF portal in the list of organizations that provide assistance to entrepreneurs in Russia.
The Council of the Eurasian Womens Forum along with core ministries and womens public organizations compiled a list of projects that aim to support female compatriots abroad and expand womens involvement in the digital economy, corporate charity, regional development, and the nuclear industry, among other areas.
