The second issue of the analytical bulletin published by HSE contains a collection of articles about the coronavirus pandemic and its impact on various spheres.

The HSE researchers analyze the latest data on the economic situation and social wellbeing and look at the prospects of gradual easing of the lockdown restrictions, examining this process in the context of international experience.

The experts assess the current state of the global economy and give short-term forecasts. Some articles touch upon the impact of the pandemic on individual industry sectors, such as oil & gas.

Special consideration is given to international and Russia’s regional experience with countering the pandemic and mitigating its negative effects.

Importantly, one article raises the topic of the effect of the current situation on physical and psychological health of medical personnel. Also, several works discuss some aspects of social relations such as mutual help in a difficult situation, in particular in the form of volunteering and the activities of non-profit organizations.

For more information about policy responses to the coronavirus outbreak and possible ways to stabilize the economy during the pandemic, please see the COVID-19 and StayHomeEconomy special sections of the Roscongress information and analytical system.
