The opening ceremony for the Far East Street exhibition took place on 3 September on the waterfront of Ajax Bay as part of the Sixth Eastern Economic Forum. The exhibition was organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Office of the Presidential Envoy for the Russian Far Eastern Federal District.

The ceremony was attended by Yury Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District, heads of Far Eastern regions, representatives of federal and regional authorities, business and the public.

Far East Street is one of the key events of the cultural programme of EEF 2021. It showcases the economic, investment and tourism opportunities of all the regions of the Russian Far East. Also participating in this year's exhibition are federal executive authorities: the Russian Ministry of Sport, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Russian Ministry for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic.

"For the sixth time, the Eastern Economic Forum is taking place, and for the sixth time, we are gathering on the Far East Street. We devised this 'street' so that each region could show what the Primorye, Chukotka, the Amur Region, Yakutia, Buryatia and other parts of Russia, which make up the friendly family of Far Eastern regions, are loved for. I am convinced that this is very important. Love for one's native land creates energy of movement, builds pride that allows one to tackle new challenges. Thank you for the fact that we are once again gathering on the Far East Street. I wish everyone success, and I am sure that the Eastern Economic Forum will bring new investment projects, new friendships, and new energy to the Far East", said Yury Trutnev.

During the opening ceremony, the official anthem of the exhibition, written in 2019 to lyrics by Ilya Reznik, People's Artist of Russia, was played. It was performed by the Pop and Symphony Orchestra of the Primorsky Territory Philharmonic, together with the Academic Choir of the Far Eastern Federal University. A show ballet and regional creative delegations also performed on stage. In addition, the ceremony included kyokushinkaikan and taekwondo demonstrations.

During the Far East Street exhibition, the main stage will feature performances by creative ensembles from the Far Eastern regions, presentation videos, and contests. The creative programme will consist not only of numbers reflecting the folk art of the region, but also modern performances: circus art, show numbers, and concerts by musical groups.

The opening ceremony was also attended by the Russian Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, Alexey Chekunkov, who toured the exhibition's pavilions after the event ended.

The exhibition is available to Forum participants from 2–4 September; Vladivostok residents and visitors can visit it afterwards by pre-registering at fareaststreet.ru on 5–6 September; a social day is scheduled for 7 September.
