Rostourism and Roscongress Foundation Sign Information Partnership Agreement on EEF Sidelines

Ростуризм и Росконгресс подписали соглашение об информационном партнерстве на полях ВЭФ

The Federal Agency for Tourism (Rostourism) and the Roscongress Foundation intend to jointly develop domestic tourism projects and provide assistance in improving the tourism infrastructure of Russia’s regions.

The agreement was signed during the Eastern Economic Forum, which is taking place in Vladivostok on 2–4 September. The document was signed by Rostourism Director Zarina Doguzova and Roscongress Foundation CEO Alexander Stuglev.

The agreement calls for information cooperation, the exchange of information, and joint events dedicated to automobile tourism in Russia. There are plans to jointly hold the ‘F.I.C.C. RALLY 2022’ International Caravanning and Automotive Tourism Festival and the ‘Travel!’ Russian Tourism Forum.

This marks the first time that Russia has won the right to host the ‘F.I.C.C. RALLY 2022’, which will be held in Moscow from 29 July to 7 August 2022. The decision to hold the most prestigious automotive tourism event in Russia was made through an open vote at the General Assembly of the International Federation of Camping, Caravanning, and Motor Caravanning.

The main goal of the event is to promote automotive tourism, which will unleash Russia’s tourism potential for several million auto travellers from England, Belgium, France, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Turkey, China, and other countries, and will also help boost demand for domestic tourism among Russian citizens and increase tourist flows.

“Domestic tourism in Russia is an important area of work of the Federal Agency for Tourism. Thanks to cooperation between Rostourism and the Roscongress Foundation, we expect to present opportunities for travel around the country, help regional projects, and make efforts to develop infrastructure for tourists. This systematic joint work will make a contribution to the regional economy and demonstrate the conditions, sites, routes, and services that Russian tourism offers today. The signing of the agreement at the Eastern Economic Forum, one of the largest business events in Russia, is evidence that developing domestic tourism is a top priority,” Advisor to the Russian President Anton Kobyakov said.

“Travelling by car involves an individual approach and mobility and offers an opportunity to plan your route on your own, see many interesting cities, beautiful villages, and landscapes, and stay at any sight you like. This is definitely a modern trend, especially in the current situation with restrictions and social distancing that we are experiencing today. And of course, this trend must be developed in a comprehensive manner in each region. We are talking not only about the quality of roads, but also convenient navigation along routes, equipped parking lots, and food outlets. These tasks should also be included in terms of territorial planning. But we already have well-established, convenient, and culturally unique automobile routes, for example, the famous Golden Ring, the road between the two capitals of Moscow and St. Petersburg, and the Ladoga Ring. I am certain that holding the ‘F.I.C.C. RALLY 2022’ International Caravanning and Automotive Tourism Festival will provide a new impetus for the development of car travel in Russia, will open new routes not only for Russian but also for foreign tourists, and will attract more attention among investors to this type of tourism,” Rostourism Director Zarina Doguzova said.

“We have intensified our interaction with Rostourism and signed a cooperation agreement directly at the Eastern Economic Forum. We are ready to tell people where to go and where to vacation. We are ready to discover a new side of Russia!” Roscongress Foundation CEO and Chairman of the Board Alexander Stuglev said.

The 6th Eastern Economic Forum is being held in a hybrid format in compliance with all sanitary and epidemiological safety measures. The event will be the second major international event in 2021 after the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
