Alexander Stuglev, CEO of the Roscongress Foundation met with Dr. Benedict Okey Oramah, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the African Export–Import Bank (Afreximbank).
The parties have discussed preparations for St. Petersburg International Economic Forum that will take place in St. Petersburg 15–18 June in St. Petersburg and would coincide with 29th Afreximbank Annual Meetings in Cairo.
"Afreximbank is our long-standing and reliable partner in Africa. We work together in several directions at once, promote the establishment of practical contacts between Russian and African businesses, as well as implement bilateral projects," said Alexander Stuglev.
Afreximbank will participate in SPIEF as a Partner and will send a delegation to St. Petersburg.
"Following the tradition of many years, we are happy to take part in the SPIEF this year. Once again, the Forum provides a unique opportunity for our delegation to learn more about the mutual trade and investment opportunities between Africa and Russia. It is especially important in the current situation of declining global food and energy supplies," Benedict Oramah emphasized.
Afreximbank is a supranational financial institution established in 1993 to finance, promote, and expand African trade. Russia became a shareholder of the bank in 2017.
The Afreximbank Annual Meetings are traditionally attended by the leaders of Africa's official and business community. It represents one of the largest economic events on the African continent.
