В рамках ВЭФ-2021 состоится сессия «Партнерство против пандемии: антикризисные стратегии в медицине»

The business programme of the Eastern Economic Forum will include a session entitled «Partnership Against the Pandemic: Anti-Crisis Strategies in Medicine». The event is included in the thematic track «The New Economy: What Changes and What Stays the Same», organized by the Roscongress Foundation’s Healthy Society project.

The panel discussion will be attended by Mikhail Murashko, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation; Melita Vuinovich, representative to the Russian Federation and head of the World Health Organization office in the Russian Federation; Kwon Deok-chul, Minister of Health and Welfare of the Republic of Korea; Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF); Alexander Petrov, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Circulation of Medicines, Development of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Industry of the Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation on Health Protection; Guzel Ulumbekova, Head of the Higher School of Healthcare Organization and Management; Andrey Karpin, CEO of the National Medical Research Radiological Centre of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, and others. The session will be moderated by Evelina Zakamskaya, Editor-in-Chief of the Doctor TV channel and Russia 24 TV presenter.

Today, in the context of lessons learnt in pandemic response, the ability of national health systems to withstand emergencies and to build sustainable inter-country partnerships for effective response strategies must be a response to the challenges of our time. A key aspect of the transformation of global health care today is the issue of national biological security, not only in terms of preventative strategies to avoid such disasters, but also in terms of finding new development vectors, and improving mechanisms to ensure that all citizens have ready access to quality medical care under any conditions.

«The proximity of the Far East to Asia-Pacific countries offers great opportunities for cooperation and cross-country networking, the exchange of experiences and technology transfer. The national health systems of many countries have been transformed to deal effectively with coronavirus infection. Best practices should be scaled up internationally, and platforms of dialogue such as the Eastern Economic Forum play a significant role in this,» stressed Alexander Petrov, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Circulation of Medicines, Development of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Industry of the Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation on Health Protection.

Participants will discuss what criteria must be met for sustainable health care to meet the principles of national security, which international experience in building sustainable health systems is the most relevant, what trends are guiding the development of medical cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region, and how the pandemic experience has contributed to the reform of health care delivery in the Far East.
