Made in Russia International Export Forum (9 December): two online export events in a single day!

1 December 2020
Форум «Сделано в России» 9 декабря: сразу два мероприятия по онлайн-экспорту!

Two online events on exporting via e-commerce platforms will take place on 9 December as part of the Made in Russia International Export Forum organized by the Russian Export Center and the Roscongress Foundation. These events will mark the end of what has been a marathon year for exporters, and will help them prepare to meet new targets and objectives for 2021.

At 12:30, a roundtable entitled Export Quest: Moving Online will take place as part of the main business programme. The event will see experts answering key questions concerning exporting online.

In this new world of 2020, online transformation is an inescapable reality for the export sector. However, this should not be a cause for concern. The REC is able to walk exporters through the ins and outs of e-commerce and help them enter the global online market together with their partners. The session will be held as a quest centring around an exporter wishing to enter the world of exporting online, with the REC acting as his navigator. It will be led by Alexey Murzenok, Director of Electronic Sales Development at the Russian Export Center and Natalya Shavel, Export Director at Belyovskaya Confectionery Company. Belyovskaya Confectionery Company is a successful exporter of traditional Russian apple-based confectionary to Europe, China, Japan and other countries, and will share their experience at the session.

The exporter will go through five core stages which will ultimately enable him to successfully export his goods online. At each stage, the speakers will have to convince Natalya, Alexey, and most importantly, the audience, that a particular service or platform offers an effective tool for trading overseas.

Speakers at the session will include Ilya Kretov, General Manager for Global Emerging Markets at eBay; Aleksey Skatin, Deputy Chairman of the Board and Deputy General Director for Electronic Commerce at Russian Post; Vladimir Tarasov, Development Director at Ecwid Russia; Rocky Hou, General Manager for Alibaba.com’s Global Gold Supplier Programme; and Tao Sha, Chief Executive Officer of Epinduo (operator of the Russian National Foodstore on Tmall.com).

The session will provide viewers with a comprehensive picture of the ecosystem governing exporting online. Viewers will also gain an understanding of the various aspects and features unique to e-commerce, and be able to determine their first steps to further digitalizing their export operations in the new year.

«Our focus in 2020 was on the exporter. We made it our objective to provide the information and tools needed for them to rapidly gain an overview, receive support, and enter the international e‑commerce market, in spite of the difficult situation they were in. And with exporters successfully beginning to export online, or expanding operations, we can say that our strategy has paid off. Our export quest at the Made in Russia Forum will provide an opportunity to both draw conclusions from the past, and look ahead to the future. It is our pleasure to invite all companies interested in launching or expanding e-commerce operations abroad. On 9 December we will also hold a webinar as part of the Forum. As we mark the end of 2020, we will speak to leading experts about online marketing tools. Make sure you register and submit your questions — it promises to be an interesting event,» said Vice President Sergey Vologodsky.
