Российский дом в Берлине примет «Игру мыслей»

An international art exhibition, entitled Game of Thoughts 2020, is set to open on 19 September at the Russian House of Science and Culture in Berlin, and will run until 6 December. Assistance with the initiative has been provided by the Roscongress Foundation

This will be the third year the exhibition is taking place. As in previous years, it will bring together artists from various branches and schools of thought, with each contributing to the exhibition’s striking and unique feel. Visitors in turn will have the chance to explore a wide range of expressive techniques being employed in modern art. In 2018, a project entitled Тьма & Licht (Darkness and Light) set in motion a fascinating conversation between artists from various countries. This new exhibition will mark a continuation of this conversation, which focused on timeless values and current issues. It will feature painting, graphics, decorative works of art, photographs, and video installations created by established and up-and-coming artists alike. All the featured artists are united by a tireless fascination with forms and lines. But how can the visitor make sense of this mosaic of feelings and emotions, and understand the artists’ thoughts? The key lies in a famous quote by German artist Paul Klee: “Art does not reproduce the visible; rather, it makes visible.” With this in mind, Game of Thoughts 2020 will open up an incredible maze of colour, texture, and contrasts of light.

Featured artists: Oxana Baumgardt, Willi Büsing, Tatiana Deynekina, Masha Fey, Andreas Geißel, Hubert Höft-Baumgardt, Irina Iskra, Jennifer Jennsel, Nikolai Kibich, Alexei Kostroma, Julia Kurtu, Valeriu Kurtu, Tamara Natsvlishvili, Tanja Neljubina, Ingolf Neumann, Anatoly Rudakov, Sergey Shulga, Vladimir Sichov, Alexander Steinmetz, Evgeny Tanklevsky, Alissa Verj, Irene Weidenkeller.

The Russian House of Science and Culture in Berlin aims to help people in Germany learn about Russian achievements in culture, science, foreign policy, and society. It supports and helps foster the national and cultural identities of Russians living in Germany, and helps maintain and develop Russian-language study and support programmes. It also promotes Russian educational services and the expansion of cooperation between Russian and German educational and scientific centres.
