Фонд Росконгресс поддержит развитие Международного фестиваля спортивного кино Krasnogorski

The Roscongress Foundation, RC-Sport, and the Krasnogorski International Sports Film Festival have signed a cooperation agreement. The signing ceremony was held at Gostiny Dvor in Moscow, and was attended by Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Roscongress Foundation Georgy Bryusov, President of the Krasnogorski Film Festival and three-time Olympic figure-skating champion Irina Rodnina, and Director of the Krasnogorski Film Festival Yulia Pakhomova-Gorshkova. During the event, the individuals in question highlighted the importance of developing filmmaking in the world of sports. Films of this kind can achieve a great deal in terms of popularizing sport and sporting heroes, promoting a healthy lifestyle, instilling correct values in young people, and positioning Russia as a major sporting power.

A special screening of the Australian sports drama Ride Like a Girl also took place on 16 September. The event was held as part of the 18th Krasnogorski International Sports Film Festival and the cultural programme of the Living Sport Forum with the support of RC-Sport.

The film festival, which will run from 8 to 13 October in Moscow, represents one of the first collaborative ventures between the Roscongress Foundation, RC-Sport, and the management team behind the festival. All events will be held in the same format as previous years, with all sanitary and epidemiological regulations adhered to. The number of visitors will also be restricted. Among the venues to host this year’s events and screenings will be Moscow’s Illuzion Cinema, Eldar Cinema, the Moskino cinema chain, the Museum of Sport, and Gostiny Dvor. In addition, a number of towns in Moscow region will also host events, including Krasnogorsk, Klin, Orekhovo-Zuyevo, Zaraysk, and Gorki-2.

As in previous years, the competition programme will be judged by a distinguished international jury made up of renowned directors, producers, screenwriters, and figures from the arts. This year’s festival will feature a premiere screening of the sporting drama Streltsov, starring Alexander Petrov.

The feature films and documentaries featured at the festival are selected by participants from various countries and regions across Russia. The international jury will review films about sport, athletes, coaches, and great sporting victories. Prizes will be awarded in six categories: best subject, best starring role, strength in spirit, best director, best documentary, and best feature film. Each participant will receive a certificate, with the winners being awarded a specially made statuette in the shape of a symbolic star.

The festival collection currently numbers more than 5,000 feature length films and documentaries from 160 countries. Together, they tell the stories of champions and amateurs, of coaches and teams, and of competitions held in more than 60 forms of sport. Each year, around 10,000 people attend the free festival screenings.
