Art Team Project Launches Free Educational Online Platform

30 June 2020
В рамках проекта Art Team начала работу бесплатная образовательная онлайн-платформа

The Russian Culture Centre, the Centre for Film Festivals and International Programmes, and the Innosocium Foundation – the social platform of the Roscongress Foundation – launched a free public online course called ‘Management Skills in Creative Industries. From Idea to Implementation’ on 27 June. The educational programme is part of the Art Team National Project to Establish a Professional Community of Young People and Talent Pool in Creative Industries (organized with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund).

The programme features a ‘fractal’ training system in which each subsequent webinar strengthens and complements the skills that have been acquired at previous webinars. The course starts with a description of the creative economy in Russia and around the world, delves into the specifics of each sector of creative industries, then moves on to a more detailed study of the components involved in implementing an author’s project.

The Art Team educational programme consists of 36 core classes and six elective courses that aim to explain the most difficult points and includes the following blocks:

  • Economics of creative industries and building a creative project;
  • Regional branding and enhancing the investment appeal of a territory;
  • Analysis of the internal and external environment and project packaging;
  • Project planning and plotting a roadmap;
  • Development of a financial model for the project and searching for ways to commercialize it;
  • Assembly of a project team;
  • Project marketing, PR, and GR;
  • Project presentation;
  • Work with copyrights and related rights;
  • Gamification in project management.

“Developing the infrastructure of creative industries will help reduce the outflow of talented individuals and enhance the investment appeal of the regions. A study we conducted about the barriers to the development of creative industries, which encompassed roughly 7,000 people from all federal districts, showed that the main barrier is the lack of relevant skills for implementing projects. Our goal is to help solve this problem as part of the Art Team educational programme, which involves leading experts from all areas of creative industries. Our programme is structured in such a way that it will not only be relevant for authors of creative projects, but also for the vast majority of users who want to further develop in the various sectors of creative industries,” said Marina Abramova, Director of the Russian Culture Centre.

“Our goal is to help young talents shape a sustainable future. We need to become a bridge between the great minds of our times – philosophers, sociologists, designers, architects, artists, writers, and opinion leaders – and promising representatives of the new generation. By organizing exhibitions, discussions, and awards, we are creating opportunities for the development of unconventional thinking and creativity. Supporting aspiring talents is all the more important because this is how young people can become intrigued by fresh modern ideas based on which they will subsequently create their own bright future. I am certain that the Art Team contest, the Russian Creativity Week festival, and the other projects that we are implementing together with the Russian Cultural Centre will become incubators and fertile ground for innovative ideas and the exchange of experience,” said Elena Marinina, Deputy CEO of the Roscongress Foundation and Director of the Innosocium Foundation.

“Today, demand for skilled professionals in the creative economy is a top priority. In our modern world, the concept of education is rapidly changing, and it must change since the world around us is becoming so different. In this regard, further skills-based training for creative young people in order to expand their knowledge base helps young professionals feel more confident and constantly improve themselves. The Art Team project offers its participants from different regions of Russia broad opportunities to improve their level of proficiency and obtain additional education. The educational content of the project will provide its participants with the ability to translate a creative language into the language of business, the ability to understand modern legislation, and the ability to transition from the non-profit to the for-profit sector. It will also help them improve and develop the current situation in their region and make it economically attractive in the future,” said Tatyana Shumova, President of the Centre for Film Festivals and International Programmes.

The webinars are being held on the Art Team’s YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4F23QOfT3SrUGJ3rNIYWdQ/featured). Recordings of the webinars will also be available on the project’s official website (https://art-team.moscow/) after registering in the participant’s personal web office.
