The Roscongress Foundation and the St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design (SPbSUITD) have officially agreed to cooperate on implementing the national 24-hour ‘In This Together’ helpline. The agreement was signed by Roscongress Foundation Chairman of the Board and CEO Alexander Stuglev and SPbSUITD’s Vice-Rector for Information Policy and Admission Anna Korobovtseva.

In accordance with the document, on-campus students from SPbSUITD and other state universities in St. Petersburg that are part of the student employment programme developed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education will serve as hotline operators. They will be tasked with consulting elderly and limited mobility individuals on the acquisition and delivery of groceries and medications.

«Students are people on the verge of becoming the foundation of Russia’s social and economic development. They have a lot of responsibilities and this is a difficult time. By working for the hotline and thereby helping older generations, they will not only gain invaluable experience, but will also demonstrate their business and human skills. I am certain that this will come in handy in their future endeavors and in their life in general,» said Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Roscongress Foundation Alexander Stuglev.

«The current crisis has affected practically every social group. Our fellow elderly citizens are having a particularly difficult time, but students are facing a large number of obstacles as well. The fact that, through the In This Together project, people in difficult straits are helping each other is rather symbolic and representative of our city. This is not the first time that the students of Russia and St. Petersburg have lent a helping hand to their homeland. We are certain that our young people will shine again,» said SPbSUITD’s Vice-Rector for Information Policy and Admission Anna Korobovtseva.

St. Petersburg’s student volunteers underwent online training using a special methodology developed by Roscongress Foundation specialists. Planned cooperation between the Foundation and SPbSUITD also includes information work. Accordingly, the website СТУДРАБОТА.РФ will be regularly updated with information about Roscongress Foundation events.

#InThisTogether is a nationwide initiative. Among those involved in the project are the Roscongress Foundation, the All-Russia People’s Front, the Association of Volunteer Centres, the nationwide Medical Volunteers movement, Volunteers for the Constitution, Rostelecom, MTS, various entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations, and members of the public.

The call centre operates 24 hours a day.
