Павильон «Азербайджан» откроют в рамках Десятого российско-азербайджанского межрегионального форума

The Azerbaijan pavilion will reopen at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre on 23 November following comprehensive restoration. The ceremony will be attended by the delegation heads of the countries participating in the Forum.

The Azerbaijan pavilion was built by the architects Sadikh Dadashev and Mikael Useynov in 1939. The pavilion was designed in Stalinist empire style with the addition of Azerbaijani ethnic motifs. The historical building is not only a cultural heritage site, but also a symbol of the continuing traditions of fruitful cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan as well as new joint projects and achievements.

Restoration work on the Azerbaijan pavilion has been under way for the past three years with the involvement of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, which is headed by the First Vice President of Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced that the pavilion would be opened this year at the 9th Russia-Azerbaijan Interregional Forum in Baku in September 2018: «The planned opening of the Azerbaijan pavilion at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre next year will also be an important step. This historic building was the Azerbaijan pavilion in the middle of the last century, and we are rebuilding it and will have a presence and demonstrate our achievements at what I consider to be an extremely important exhibition venue».

The 10th Russia-Azerbaijan Interregional Forum will be held in Moscow on 22–23 November.

«The opening of the pavilion following its restoration is a sign of the fruitful development of Russian-Azerbaijani relations and new joint projects that inspire achievements and future victories», Adviser to the Russian President Anton Kobyakov said.

The programme includes an expanded meeting of the Russia-Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan-Russia Business Councils as well as four roundtables on expanding regional business cooperation in such areas as transport infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, and humanitarian affairs.

The event is being organized by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development jointly with the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy and the Roscongress Foundation.

You can register as a participant or obtain accreditation for the Forum before 18 November on the website.
