During the celebration of the 350th anniversary of the Russian flag in Moscow, traditional children’s competitions in show jumping for the prize of the Spasskaya Tower festival took place in the Red Square. The Roscongress Foundation supported the event. The winners of the 3rd Moscow Open Children and Youth Equestrian Arts Festival and the 2nd National Pony Forum participated in the competition. The organizers of the tournament were the Department of Sport and Tourism of the City of Moscow, Directorate of Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival and ‘Kremlin Horse Riding School’ Equestrian Sports Club.

Spectacular and dynamic, children’s competitions have already become a fixture at the Spasskaya Tower Festival. Every year it attracts a growing number of participants and observers, being one of the most exciting sporting events taking place on a horse-riding arena.

Young athletes cleared two courses. The first is a mirror jumping, where two riders simultaneously go over the same obstacles at different sites. The worse of the two gets eliminated, and the better one continues competing with the next participant. Maria Maslennikova won this course. Arina Vinogradova and Victoria Leibman took the second and third places.

The second course was the equestrian biathlon. The riders were to ride a horse along the first half of the course, dismount, shoot at a target, mount the horse again and ride it back with more obstacles along the route. Victoria Leibman won this course; Maria Kupriyanova took the second place and Yana Gromova — the third.

The competition ended with the award ceremony with the participation of Deputy CEO of the Roscongress Foundation Irina Zhiltsova, Deputy Director of the Roscongress Foundation Georgy Bryusov, Moscow Kremlin Commandant Sergei Khlebnikov, Director of KSK Izmailovo Alexander Bakeev, and General Director of the Kremlin Equestrian School Boris Petrov.
