Two months remain
until the RussiaAfrica Summit and
Economic Forum. Advisor to the Russian President, Executive Secretary of the Organizing
Committee Anton Kobyakov took chairmanship in an interagency meeting in Moscow on
preparations for the most important strategic events in the context of
Russian-African relations.
The meeting was
attended by representatives of the Russian Presidential Administration, the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Federal Security
Service, the Administration of the Krasnodar Territory, Russian Export Center,
and the Roscongress Foundation. The participants discussed the status of the
venues readiness, the preparation of the city and its infrastructure as well
as aspects concerning the safety of events and work with participants. They
paid particular attention to the invitation campaign and the readiness of
hotels to receive official delegations and participants.
Some 9,000 participants are expected to attend events in the RussiaAfrica format, including representatives from
African and Russian businesses, official delegations, and journalists. A total
of 57 delegations have already confirmed they will participate in the Summit,
including 41 leaders of African countries, as well as the heads of sub-regional
African organizations. More than 6,500 delegates and guests are expected to
attend the RussiaAfrica Economic
Forum. The event venue will include facilities at Sochi Olympic Park. About
9,100 rooms have been booked at more than 30 hotels for event participants.

in full swing. The agencies involved are aware of the importance of the
upcoming events for the development of Russian-African relations and are making
every effort to create a unique platform for the development of multilateral
cooperation between our countries», Kobyakov said.
Upon conclusion of the meeting, instructions were given on specific issues and deadlines were set for their implementation.
