Andrey Slepnev, Chief Executive Officer of the Russian Export Centre, held
the first meeting of the Working Group on the organization and hosting
Afreximbank events in June 2019 in Moscow.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Vasily
Osmakov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Sergey Levin,
the leadership of the Roscongress Foundation, the organizational partner of the
events, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian
Federation, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation,
Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian
Federation, State Corporation ROSATOM, and major Russian companies heavily
investing in Africa, such as RZD, V Holding, Uralchem and Uralkali, all
participated in the meeting.
The meeting outlined the milestones of preparation and organization of
events intended to unite the efforts of government agencies and business.
The events programme content received special consideration. The most
relevant facets of Russian-African economic agenda are to be delved into,
including the financial industry, railway infrastructure, digital technologies
and cyber security, health care and education, food security, energy and
mining.
To recap, the Roscongress Foundation, together with the Russian Export Centre, are key institutions responsible for preparing and hosting events for the General Meeting of Shareholders of Afreximbank (African Export-Import Bank) and a business conference. The Russian Export Centre is a shareholder of Afreximbank since December 2017.
The event information centre opens on 15 April.
