On 23 April the St.
Petersburg Academy of Digital Technologies platform will host a session
entitled ‘Plan not cancel. Changing the roadmap for tourism and event
industries.’ During this online conference Russian and international
participants will discuss plans and solutions to battle the crisis, support
businesses, and evaluate the consequences of the current situation for tourism
and event industries. The conference is organized by the St. Petersburg
Convention Bureau together with the Roscongress Foundation.
Representatives of
government, business community, and professional association will share their
perspectives on the current state of the industry and will come up with
solutions to return to stability.
The agenda will
include questions of state support, designing and implementing mitigation
measures, and working with the public. Experts will discuss protecting the
rights of both travelers and industry professionals, will look at the MICE
market before and after the pandemic, and will elaborate on risks and corporate
responsibility when force majeure clauses are invoked. The participants will
share their experiences in making strategic decisions, working with
international guidelines, and implementing promising digital solutions.
The session will

Committee for Tourism Development, Andrey Matsarin, General Director of
the St. Petersburg Convention Bureau, Sergey Selivanov, Director of the
Department of Exhibition, Fair and Congress Activities of the CCI of Russia, Alexander
Stuglev, Chairman and CEO of the Roscongress Foundation, Sergei Voronkov,
CEO of ExpoForum International, Alexei Valkov, Director of the St.
Petersburg International Economic Forum, Alexei Kalachev, Director of
the Russian Convention Bureau, Yelena Ublieva, Executive Director of the
Russian Union of Events and Fairs, and Mariska Kesteloo, founder of Word of MICE.
