At the end of March 2019, Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, will host the 8th Russia—Kyrgyzstan Interregional Conference ‘Towards New Horizons of Strategic Partnership and Integration’. The event is organised by the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia and the Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan with the support of the Roscongress Foundation and coincides with the state visit of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
«Interregional forums are a unique platform for direct and meaningful communication between Russian regions and foreign countries. Such forums have established themselves as an efficient mechanism in the development of economic cooperation with neighbouring countries. Today, more than 60 regions of the Russian Federation maintain interregional ties with Kyrgyzstan, and more than ten agreements on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation have been signed. I am confident that at the Conference, the business of the two countries will reveal new points of contact for the development of the economic partnership,» said Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation.
The leadership of the Presidential Administrations of the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic, heads of regions of the two countries, representatives of the legislative and executive authorities, major Russian and Kyrgyz businesses, non-governmental organisations, and an expert community will attend the event.
The Conference programme includes a plenary session and key roundtables, which are to discuss the integration potential within EurAsEC, as well as bilateral cooperation in the implementation of the EurAsEC digital agenda, the use of digital technologies in the agribusiness, and prospects for cooperation in the financial area, transport and logistics. The upcoming event will offer a business networking platform, the seminar ‘Products Promotion to the Russian and Kyrgyz Markets’, the pitch session for Russian and Kyrgyz companies, and the business breakfast of the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Oreshkin and the Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic Oleg Pankratov with regional leaders and business. The first Russian and Kyrgyz universities rectors’ Forum will also take place at the Conference’s venue.
The year 2019 is to bring more forums and conferences with Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and some other countries.
