Day one of business programme held in Russia House in Davos

The first business events of the official programme took place at the Russia House in Davos, organized by the Roscongress Foundation, with over 300 Russian and foreign guests, including entrepreneurs, economists, and representatives of the expert and scientific communities visiting the site and discussing global trends and strategic opportunities for Russian and international businesses.On Tuesday, the Russia House was visited by President of the Skolkovo Foundation Viktor Vekselberg, Chairman of the Skolkovo Foundation and FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich, CEO and Co-Founder of Hyperloop Transportation Technologies Dirk Ahlborn, President of Orion Heritage David Yakobashvili, and Match TV Channel General Producer Tina Kandelaki among other guests and participants of the World Economic Forum.

The main event of the business programme’s first day was ‘The Russia Economic Outlook’ session that enjoyed the participation of PhosAgro Chairman of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer Andrey Guryev, IHS Markit Vice Chairman Daniel Yergin, SUN Group Vice Chairman Shiv Vikram Khemka, and Caixin Deputy Editor Huang Shan. The discussion was moderated by CNBC TV anchor Geoff Cutmore.Participants discussed global trends in the investment development of countries, import substitution issues, and energy exports. Special attention during the session was paid to the revitalization of industrial productivity and the steps need to achieve it.

In full swing alongside the business programme at the Russia House is the multi-format business space, one of the largest in Davos. Guests have access to the conference room and comfortable meeting rooms and areas for informal interaction. This international platform traditionally receives positive reviews and attracts the attention not only of World Economic Forum participants but also of city residents.

Shiv Vikram Khemka, Vice-Chairman of the SUN Group international investment company, shared his impressions of the Russia House in Davos, noting that “every time you come here you feel a unique atmosphere and energy of a lot of people who are happy to be working together. And, to be absolutely serious, the Russia House is an interesting business life, a business discussion, a chance for partnerships, and open and honest conversations about Russia and its future. This is a great project and I sincerely congratulate you.”

The second day of the official Russian residence will be of key importance for the Russia House business programme. It will kick off with an International Cybersecurity Congress working discussion. January 23 will also see the ‘Russia: DNA of the New Entrepreneur’ and the ‘Urban Digital Transformation: Prospects forImplementing AIin Managing Municipal Processes and Procedures’ sessions take place.

The site’s second day is scheduled to wrap up with a solemn ceremony awarding a prize for international cooperation and foreign trade organized by the Department of External Economic and International Relations of Moscow and established by the Moscow Centre for International Cooperation, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, and the Kommersant Publishing House.

The official Russian residence will be open to participants of the World Economic Forum and visitors to Davos until 25 January.
