The annual Women’s Forum for the Economy and Society (WEFCOS), the largest global event to discuss the role of women in modern society, will take place in Paris on 14–16 November. For the first time, successful women from Russia will take part in the business programme of the Forum through the initiative of the Roscongress Foundation. Additionally, a cooperation agreement between the Roscongress Foundation and WEFCOS will be signed at the Forum.
Women’s Forum for the Economy & Society is one of the most reputable international organisations that promote the humanitarian agenda through the lens of women’s leadership in the development of international cooperation. The organisation annually holds the WEFCOS Summit of women-leaders, which convenes thousands of participants to discuss current challenges in the economy, politics and society.
«For the first time in the 13-year history of the Women’s Forum for the Economy & Society the delegation from Russia participates in the programme of the Annual Summit in Paris. The event is dedicated to the current challenges of socio-economic development, such as the digitalization of the global economy and climate change, their impact on the development of business, society, science, and education. However, it’s evident that the main task of the Forum is to overcome inequalities and stereotypes about women, strengthen the role of women in society, and expand their economic presence. The participation of representatives from Russia in this Summit of the Women’s Forum was made possible through the support and assistance of the Roscongress Foundation’s Social Programmes Directorate,» noted Svetlana Lukash, Representative of the President of the Russian Federation to the G20 Group (the Russian Sherpa), Deputy Head of the Presidential Expert’s Directorate.
The hero of the Russian Federation, Russian pilot-cosmonaut Yelena Serova, Representative of the President of the Russian Federation to the G20 Group (the Russian Sherpa), Deputy Head of the Presidential Expert’s Directorate Svetlana Lukash and General Producer of Match TV Tina Kandelaki will participate in the business programme of the Forum. Participants will discuss immediate issues of overcoming inequality and stereotypes of women, strengthening the role of women in society and expanding their economic presence.
A cooperation agreement between the Roscongress Foundation and WEFCOS will also be signed at the Forum. The objective of the agreement is to promote the development of the international women’s community, strengthen international socio-cultural relations and cooperation of women globally to solve vital social issues through organising and conducting joint events. Elena Marinina, Head of Social Programmes at the Roscongress Foundation and Chiara Corazza, Managing Director of WEFCOS will take part in the signing ceremony.
