The
Roscongress Foundation has signed cooperation agreements with three major
Belarusian non-profits for the disabled: BelOI (Belarusian Society of the
Disabled), RAIC (Republican Association of Wheelchair Persons) and the public
association Gid Pa Zhytsi (Belarusian Association for Assistance to Disabled Children and
Young Persons, hereinafter – BelAPDIiM).
The
organizations agreed on social cooperation in the field of inclusive and
supported employment in the Republic of Belarus: assistance in providing additional
opportunities for citizens with disabilities, sharing cultural traditions,
assisting employers with compliance issues, building a talent pool, and
employing candidates with disabilities for jobs that do not require special
education.
The
Roscongress Foundation and three organizations lobbying for the rights and
interests of people with disabilities jointly launched an inclusive social
project of the RC Skills Foundation in the Republic of Belarus. The aim of the
project is to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities, to
create conditions for practical and psychological adaptation of able-bodied
citizens with disabilities for further employment in vacancies with comfortable
conditions and decent wages. The partner of the project is the Interregional
Contact Centre.
From May to
October 2022, 35 Belarusian citizens with disabilities took part in the
project. They received distance training in the areas of corporate culture and
ethics, the basic use of office software, and financial literacy; some of the
project participants received internships at the Roscongress Foundation and the
Interregional Contact Centre and, as a result, were offered employment.
There are plans to
develop cooperation between the Foundation and Belarusian organizations
lobbying for the rights and interests of people with disabilities, to further
promote the RC Skills project, to form new groups and develop new training
areas, and to hold inter-state thematic job fairs, cultural events and
competitions at the level of the Union State, to create an employer counselling
centre to develop socially responsible entrepreneurship and increase employment
of people with disabilities.
