Countdown to GMIS 2019 Began at Innoprom

It was announced at the meeting between the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov and the CEO of Mubadala Aerospace, the Head of the Organizing Committee of the Global Manufacturing & Industrialization Summit Badr Al-Olama.

At the event’s official website https://gmisummit.com/ the countdown to the beginning of the Global Manufacturing & Industrialisation Summit (GMIS 2019) has been launched.

Additionally, during the discussion, the parties touched upon the main issues of the preparation for the summit and once again highlighted the central theme of GMIS 2019: the nature-friendly technologies.

According to the Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the main theme of the summit will be revealed through the demonstration of the modern youth’s role and the industrial traditions of Russia in the global industry development. The Russian side suggested defining the scope and contents of the business programme, while ensuring the connection of the GMIS business programme with the goals of sustainable development of the United Nations.

The Minister also reminded that this large-scale event was supported by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which allows to expect the highest level of participation of the representatives of foreign countries.

The talks were also attended by Cecilia Mercedes Ugaz Estrada, Director of the Department of Research and Statistics of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO); Yevgeny Kuyvashev, Governor of Sverdlovsk Region; and Alexander Stuglev, Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Roscongress Foundation.

«The Russian side will make every effort to ensure that GMIS continues its development as a unique discussion platform that unites key players and experts in the field of industry,» said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation. «I am confident that with Russia’s assistance, the main tasks that GMIS was created for — the establishment of international cooperation and intersectoral dialogue in the industry, the digitization of production processes, the implementation of innovations, and the development of human capital in the industry — will be effectively achieved.»

It should be noted that during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2018, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the Ministry of Energy and Industry of the United Arab Emirates, UNIDO, the Government of Sverdlovsk Oblast, the Roscongress Foundation and GMOL, to ensure the preparation and holding of the Global Manufacturing & Industrialization Summit (GMIS 2019) in the Russian Federation in 2019.
