Chairman of the Board and CEO Alexander Stuglev has been awarded the Order of
Friendship according to Decree No. 816 of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir
Putin dated 14 November 2022 “On the Presentation of State Awards of the
Russian Federation”, which was published
on the official legal information portal.
The document states that
Stuglev was awarded the Order of Friendship “for his labour achievements and
many years of conscientious work”.
Advisor to the Russian
President Anton Kobyakov said: “Over the quarter of a century of his work in
the congress and exhibition industry, Alexander Anatolyevich Stuglev has made a
special personal contribution to its development. His merits include
establishing high industry standards – a ‘professional bar’ for all market
participants – creating a successful organizational structure and project
implementation team, as well as special successes in professional cooperation.
The Order of Friendship is a state award of the Russian Federation that is
awarded to citizens of Russia and other countries for special merits in
strengthening peace, rapprochement of cultures, and exceptional labour
successes in various sectors of the economy.
After graduating from Ustinov
Voenmeh Baltic State Technical University in 1996, Stuglev worked at the
company Exhibitions-Seminars-Business. Ten years later, he took over the
company Restec Congress, which was in charge of organizing the St. Petersburg
International Economic Forum. Stuglev held senior positions at the St.
Petersburg International Economic Forum Foundation, and in 2018 he became
chairman of the board of the Roscongress Foundation, and also chairman of the
board of the National Convention Bureau Association. In 2019, he graduated from
the management talent pool development programme of the Graduate School of
Public Administration of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy
and Public Administration.
Under his leadership, dozens
of prestigious congress and exhibition events have been held in Russia and
abroad, which brought together top officials from other states and governments,
CEOs, and entrepreneurs. The Foundation’s major events include the St.
Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Eastern Economic Forum, Russian
Energy Week, the Russian Investment Forum, the 21st session of the
Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum, the 137th Assembly of the
Inter-Parliamentary Union, the first Russia–Africa Summit and Economic Forum,
Russia’s chairmanship of the Arctic Council, foreign business forums, the
events of Russia’s chairmanship in APEC, the G20, the SCO, the BRICS
association, and numerous others.
