‘Far East Street’ Exhibition to Present House of Tiger Interactive Pavilion

3 September 2022
На выставке «Улица Дальнего Востока» будет представлен интерактивный павильон «Дом тигра»

The ‘Far East Street' exhibition, which is traditionally organized at the Eastern Economic Forum and will begin its work on 5 September, will feature an interactive ‘Tiger House’ pavilion focusing on the theme of the 2nd International Tiger Forum.

The pavilion will provide an opportunity to learn more about the world of this amazing striped predator, its evolution, basic historical facts about the life of red-listed animals before the 20th century, and rare snapshots of tigers’ habitats taken with camera traps.

Visitors to the House of Tiger will also learn about the catastrophic reduction of the global population of this rare animal, the reasons behind it, why the tiger needs to be conserved and what measures are being taken in Russia. The interactive zone ‘Measures to protect the species and increase its number’, dedicated to these questions, is the most informative.

Russia is one of the leading countries in conservation and restoration of the tiger population. The Russian Far East is currently home to 95% of the entire population of the Amur subspecies. Exact data on the tiger population, based on census data collected by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation and governments of tiger range regions (Primorsky Region, Khabarovsk Territory, Jewish Autonomous Region, and Amur Region) with support of the Amur Tiger Centre and participation of the Russian Academy of Sciences in winter 2021–2022, will be announced at the Tiger Forum, but it is already known that the number of tigers has increased.

The Tiger House pavilion will be open for guests and participants of the Tiger Forum and the 7th Eastern Economic Forum from 5 to 8 September. After the Forums close, it will remain open until 11 September. Entrance to the ‘Far East Street’ exhibition is free for residents and visitors to Vladivostok.

The Tiger Forum is organized by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, the Amur Tiger Centre, and the Roscongress Foundation. The strategic partner of the Tiger Forum is Rosseti; the official airline is Aeroflot; and the official partners are Vostokcement Group, Russian Railways, the SK Royal chain of business hotels, and Pacific Investment Group.
