The legendary rhythmic gymnastics coach Irina Viner-Usmanova, Chairperson of the Commission on Physical Training and Promotion of Healthy Lifestyle of the Civic Chamber will participate in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum session entitled ‘Sport Without Borders: New Scenarios and Formats’. The session will be held on 17 June at 10:00.
«Sport is life. Love, passion, hope, and faith. It is heavy moments of grief and happy moments of joy for coaches and athletes. Sport is a unique phenomenon that is meant to unite, but today it faces unprecedented barriers created from the outside. That is why we will talk about sports without barriers, about what the policy in sports should be. Today we must unite our efforts and find opportunities for a new open format of international sports cooperation among the SCO, BRICS, CIS and other countries,» said Irina Viner-Usmanova, who initiated this session.
The panelists will include Igor Levitin, Aide to the President of the Russian Federation; Oleg Matytsin, Minister of Sport of the Russian Federation; Alexander Karelin, three-time Greco-Roman wrestling Olympic champion; Dmitry Svishchev, Chairman of the Committee on Sport and Physical Culture; Mikhail Khorev, Foreign Ministry special representative for international sports cooperation; Ksenia Shoigu, head of the League of Heroes project; and Alexander Tashchin, General Producer of Match TV.
Joël Bouzou, President of the World Olympians Association (WOA) and Marcos Diaz, Chairperson of the 8th session of the Conference of Parties to the International Conference against Doping in Sport, will join the session remotely.
Tinatin Kandelaki, Deputy Director General, Gazprom-Media Holding, will moderate the discussion.
‘Sport Without Borders: New Scenarios and Formats’ was organized by the Civic Chamber and the Ministry of Sports with the participation of Roscongress Foundation and Match TV.
