The programme for the Innovation Space – a platform the Roscongress Foundation will traditionally open at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum – has been announced. It will be attended by successful entrepreneurs and start-up creators, representatives of relevant authorities, leading corporations, investment funds, and academia.
The programme will begin on 15 June with a discussion on smart city technology. Experts will discuss the key trends in technological development of megacities, including mobility, environmental friendliness and safety, as well as the process of transforming cities into modern ecosystems where decisions are made based on big data analysis.
The most eventful programme of the Innovation Space is expected to take place on the second day of the Forum. On 16 June, it will host Digital Talk on future technologies for Russian corporations. The Talk will focus on long-term IT strategies that will help companies maintain a leading position in an ever-changing world. It will also address investments in infrastructure, and unique solutions for ERP, security, logistics and working with counterparties.
The discussion on quantum security promises to be just as timely, as the emergence of a scalable quantum computer in the not-too-distant future will make current data protection tools extremely vulnerable.
Participants and guests will also discuss innovations in advertising technologies. The programme will offer a presentation of the Architectural Competition Solutions for the Gorskaya Site. During the session ‘Modern Technologies and Content’, the Red Square Media Group will discuss how innovative technologies (including VR and AR) impact the learning process in children and their interaction with the world. Experts will try to answer the question, which innovations help children today to perceive information, and which tend to distract them?
Education will also be discussed on the third day of the Innovation Space. This time, artificial intelligence will be the key angle.
On 17 June, VEB-Ventures will also host a discussion on the development of Russian IT industry. The Russian Government has already allocated RUB 20 billion to support investment projects capable of replacing foreign technologies in this industry. Participants in the Innovation Space will focus, among other things, on non-conventional mechanisms for dealing with pressing issues in IT.

The venue will operate in Pavilion G on 15–18 June 2022. During this time, visitors will be able to view an exhibition of promising products from Russian technology companies, as well as enjoy Russia’s first cybercafé, where they will be greeted by a robotic cashier with the appearance of a supermodel.
