A meeting was held in Moscow between Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation Anton Kobyakov and Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation Kazem Jalali.
Up for discussion was the participation of the Iranian delegation in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and practical opportunities for strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The Iranian agenda has been an integral part of the SPIEF programme since 2016. The active participation of the Iranian business community in international events and joint Russian-Iranian projects such as those being carried out in accordance with the cooperation agreement signed between the Roscongress Foundation and the Iranian Chamber of Commerce and Industry prove that there is interest in developing practical bilateral cooperation.
«Relations between Russia and Iran are developing actively in a wide range of areas that include politics, trade and the economy, finance, transport, humanitarian issues, and tourism. In order to maintain the dynamic nature of the dialogue and increase the practical impact of interaction between our countries, we must focus on further strengthening Russian-Iranian business relations,» Anton Kobyakov said.
A representative business delegation is expected to discuss ways of furthering cooperation with Russia in various industries as part of a spring visit to Moscow planned for Iranian Industry, Mining and Trade Minister Reza Fatemi-Amin. A wide range of Iranian enterprises are also scheduled to come to Moscow under the auspices of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to meet with Russian construction, agricultural projects, light industry and wood processing, as well as food companies.
The 25th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will be held on 15–18 June 2022.
Registration for representatives of the media is already underway and will continue until 13 May 2022.
