Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation Anton Kobyakov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Russian Federation Abdulrahman Sulaiman Alahmed in Moscow to discuss extending cooperation between the two countries. Meeting participants addressed the participation of Saudi Arabia in large international projects in Russia, including the jubilee 25th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
«Relations between our countries have been actively developing in a whole number of strategic areas. In 2019, the High-level Russian-Saudi Strategic Cooperation Programme was signed during President Putins visit to Saudi Arabia, while the roadmap for this Programme was signed last year, with over 60 areas of cooperation approved and 51 joint projects submitted. We closely cooperate under OPEC Plus. Our joint efforts have ensured a stable supplydemand balance, while safeguarding the interests of oil producers and consumers,» noted Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation Anton Kobyakov.
For many years, Saudi Arabia has taken active participation in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The most representative Saudi delegation in the history of the Forum partook in SPIEF 2018. SPIEF 2022 will enjoy Saudi Arabias exhibition space under the INVEST SAUDI brand which will effectively present the countrys existing unique projects and solutions developed under the Vision 2030 government programme.
For his part, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Russian Federation Abdulrahman Sulaiman Alahmed highly praised the relations between the two countries in all areas that have been developing since 1926. He also mentioned the cooperation with the Roscongress Foundation and its role in organizing the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The Forum traditionally hosts the Saudi delegation and helps extend cooperation between the two countries.
As part of extending cooperation in the energy sector, the parties discussed potential participation of the Saudi delegation in the World Energy Congress the flagship triannual event of the World Energy Council held since 1924. The next Congress is scheduled for 2427 October in St. Petersburg.
Additionally, meeting participants have discussed cooperation in finance and public stock offering of Saudi companies at the St. Petersburg Stock Exchange, as well as preparation for the centennial of diplomatic relations between Russia and Saudi Arabia in 2026. Other topics of the meeting included cooperation in conservational efforts, such as participation of Saudi Arabia in white gyrfalcon breeding in the Russian Federation.
Implementation of joint projects will require a project office and an assigned team. The Roscongress Foundation will be in charge of coordinating Russias efforts.
