The 11th
Europe + Asia Event Forum in St. Petersburg hosted a discussion called
‘COVID-FREE format for events’. The session addressed adjusting public events
to the new normal: conditions for international events in Russia, visa
restrictions and EXPO ID, health security requirements for conventions, and key
trends in event safety technologies.
The
following industry professionals contributed to the discussion on protecting
participants’ health and organization of mass events: Sergey Voronkov, General
Director, ExpoForum International and President, Russian Union of Exhibitions
& Fairs; Nick Dugdale-Moore, Regional Director, Europe, UFI (Paris,
France); Dmitry Zavgoroniy, Managing Director, Hyve Expo International (Moscow,
Russia); Sagid Zaremukov, Director, Russian Convention Bureau (Moscow, Russia);
Alexander Stuglev, CEO and Chairman, Roscongress Foundation; Artur Shumilin,
Head of Convention Directorate, SVEKO.
«Safety of each and every participant
is our absolute priority. The past two years have taught us to adjust to the
new normal. I am confident that most big players in the industry have already
introduced new safety measures and organize events in accordance with the new
safety requirements. I take full responsibility when I say that people’s safety
is among the key criteria in organizing conventions and exhibitions. This is
why all necessary measures are taken at the events held by the Roscongress
Foundation. We do have solutions developed in cooperation with Rospotrebnadzor
and already tested at large-scale events. We need to use them,» noted Alexander
Stuglev, CEO and Chairman of the Roscongress Foundation during the
discussion.
Participants of the session ‘COVID-FREE format for events’ at the 11th
Europe + Asia Event Forum addressed support measures for the event industry
provided by the Government of the Russian Federation and regional authorities.
Alexander
Stuglev encouraged participants in the meeting to lead the way and actively
participate in drafting new support measures that will be submitted to the
Russian President for reviewal on 1 March 2022. «As key industry players, we
will have to do an important job. Together with the Russian Union of
Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, we need to come up with additional measures
for the event industry. I am confident that our practical recommendations and
ideas will be useful for our colleagues. The Roscongress Foundation plans to
prepare the list of recommendations and encourages all our colleagues to join
us in this important mission,» emphasized Mr. Stuglev.
