The Voronezh region is located in the central strip of the European part of Russia, in an extremely favorable strategic location, in the hub( junction) of transport communications going to the industrial regions of the Russian Federation and the CIS countries. The main resource of the region is chernozems, which occupy the main part of the territory of the region. The mineral resource base is represented by deposits of non-metallic raw materials, mainly construction materials (sands, clays, chalk, granites, cement raw materials, ochre, limestone, sandstone), there are reserves of phosphorites. The region has almost unlimited reserves of chalk (chalk reserves) .
