Description

Project description

Construction of a medium-scale natural gas liquefaction plant with a capacity of 90 thousand tons of LNG per year (stage 1), with step-by-step retrofitting with process equipment and increasing the capacity to 530 thousand tons of LNG per year (stages 2 and 3).

Description of project services and / or products

Liquefied natural gas is standard natural gas that is cooled to a temperature of −162 °C, at which it takes on a liquid form. Double-walled containers with insulated walls are used for storage in order to preserve the cold. Cryogenic vessels with vacuum insulation.

— LNG by 95–99 % is composed of methane.
— The LNG density is 420 kg/m3.
— The boiling point is minus 158–163 °C.
— LNG is odorless, colorless, non-active, and chemically non-toxic.
— The gas/liquid ratio is 600/1. LNG advantages

1. LNG can be delivered from the liquefaction plant to any regasification terminal.
2. The LNG technology makes it possible to quickly change the volume of gas production and supply depending on the market conditions.
3. Possibility of gasification of remote areas without using pipelines.
4. Higher the purity of the product.
5. Better mileage of vehicles.
6. Absence of vessels and units operating under high pressure (overpressure).
7. Increased useful volume of commercial vehicles. LNG application

• Refueling of vehicles with LNG and regasified LNG at separate stations or building multi-fuel stations using the existing petrol stations and installing ready-to-operate LNG modules.
• Expanding the use of LNG in road, rail, water, and air transport.
• Pipeless gasification of companies and the public utilities when switching boiler houses from fuel oil or diesel fuel to gas.
• Generation of electricity at standalone power plants driven by a gas engine.
• Providing motor fuel for automobile and railway equipment.
