New impetus for Moldovan-Russian business projects

Новый импульс развития молдавско-российских бизнес-проектов

On 21 October in Moscow the Roscongress Foundation hosted a meeting on the integration of joint Moldovan-Russian business projects and promotion of Russian and Moldovan entrepreneur interests.

Taking part in the meeting were First Deputy CEO of Roscongress Foundation Andrey Reut, Deputy CEO for Expert Analytics Grigory Velikikh and Chairman of the Moldovan-Russian Union of Business Igor Dodon.

The main topic of discussion was the question of expanding the partnership network between the two countries as part of the Roscongress Foundation’s 2022 planned events.

«As a non-finance development institute, it is important for us to develop effective support measures aimed at solving a number of entrepreneurial issues that every market participant comes up against, both inside and outside the scope of our events. However, it is equally important to create platforms that meet the needs of the market. For example, the Roscongress Foundation initiated the Russian Winemaking Forum planned for 2022 in aid of developing the winemaking sector, stimulating exports and forming a positive image of Russian wines. The Forum will unite all the stakeholders of the industry not in Russia, but the international sector community as well,» noted Andrey Reut.

In support of the integration dynamic between Moldovan and Russian business partners, one of the initiatives proposed during the course of the meeting was holding a joint international investment conference dedicated to the National Wine Day festival that happens in the first weekend of October in the Republic of Moldova.

«Holding a joint conference will allow us to discuss and map out development trajectories for the partnership between our two countries not only in the context of exchanging experience in the area of winemaking, but also to discuss the inclusion of adjacent sectors to vine-growing and winemaking and the creation of a unique expert analytical database,» highlighted Grigory Velikikh.

Touching on the topic of cooperation between the neighbouring nations, Igor Dodon noted, «Despite the many years of cooperation between the two countries both in the political arena and the business arena as part of the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, 2019 has given a new impetus to Russian-Moldovan relations: the two sides have signed large energy and economic agreements. The country’s new government and parliament have started speaking of a substantive interest in Eurasian integration and ramping up their involvement in the Eurasian Economic Union».

Concluding the meeting, participants expressed their hope of realizing many future innovative and substantial projects through joint efforts.
