A meeting took place in St. Petersburg between the Roscongress Foundation and the Women’s Business Association of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FLO FICCI). During the meeting, the parties discussed issues around cooperation between Russia and India and the upcoming Eurasian Women’s Forum and also signed a memorandum of understanding to develop women’s entrepreneurship and social communications and to create favourable conditions for cooperation between business circles in Russia and India. The document was signed by Roscongress Foundation CEO Alexander Stuglev and FLO FICCI President Ujjwala Singhania.

“The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, of which the Indian Women’s Business Association is a part, is a reliable partner of ours. Just a few weeks ago, we were preparing together for India’s participation in the Eastern Economic Forum, and now we have been given this great opportunity to host such a large delegation in St. Petersburg. The main goal of our collaboration with the Association is to establish closer cooperation between women entrepreneurs in both countries and to increase mutual awareness between India and Russia along with the potential for cooperation between our countries economically and culturally, and in educational and humanitarian projects,” Stuglev said.

The FLO is the largest women’s business association in India. It promotes women’s entrepreneurship and professional excellence through seminars, conferences, lectures, trainings, and other events aimed at encouraging and stimulating the involvement of the skills, experience, and energy of women in all sectors and at all levels of economic activity.

Some of the Association’s most important initiatives include the creation of India’s only industrial park in Hyderabad run entirely by women, programmes for the development of women’s start-ups and innovation projects in India, and overseas business missions.

FLO FICCI President Ujjwala Singhania stressed that the memorandum signed between the Roscongress Foundation and the FLO would pave the way for closer cooperation between women leaders and entrepreneurs from the two countries in areas such as start-ups, education, pharmaceuticals, fashion and culture, handicrafts, tourism, food processing, construction, and human capital. She also expressed hope that the agreement would help promote trade and mutual investment in accordance with the vector established by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
