On 2–7 September, as part of the 6th Eastern Economic Forum, the Ajax Bay Promenade will host the ‘Far East Street’ exhibition, featuring all 11 Far Eastern regions and federal executive bodies. An opening ceremony will be held on 2 September. The exhibition is organized by the Roscongress Foundation, with support from the office of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District.
The exhibition will showcase the unique characteristics of each of the regions in the Russian Far East, their economic potential, tourism opportunities, and cultural traditions. The regions will introduce EEF 2021 participants and guests to existing and prospective investment projects.
“The main objective of the Eastern Economic Forum is attracting investors, feedback from businesses. The ‘Far East Street’ exhibition is an opportunity to present Far Eastern regions to foreign delegations, international businesses, and scientific and social circles. The exhibition is a way to show off the socioeconomic development progress of these territories. The regions' heads and residents can demonstrate what they love about their home, what they plan to do, and what prospects they see; attracting investors and tourists,” noted Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District of the Russian Federation Yury Trutnev.
The Kamchatka Region pavilion ‘Preserve Kamchatka’ will present visitors with a hydrogen power development plan, describe the construction of the new Elizovo Airport, and showcase the tourism and scientific potential of the peninsula.
The Republic of Buryatia will include models of the VRT500 and Mi-171A2 helicopters, produced by the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant, as part of their exhibition, titled ‘Baikal-Buryatia: Traditions and the Future’. The pavilion will also include an exhibition and market of goods made from Buryat nephrite jade, office hours with a Tibetan medical doctor, tea ceremonies, and master classes in the art of Buryat folk dance called yokhor.
Khabarovsk Krai has called their exposition ‘The Future, Today’. Guests will learn about innovation in the region, its investment potential, and industrial development. The pavilion will also include a zone to play AR-assisted games of bandy and the TECHNOPARK Eco-Park.
Primorye Territory will construct its pavilion in the style of an international terminal, with the activities within styled to match. The exposition will include the inventions of local enterprises, including: Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex, Nakhodka Fertilizer Plant, and Gazprom Helium Service. What's more, visitors will have the chance to learn more about the Udege people, their legends, and goods produced under the Made in Primorye brand.
Amur Region’s exposition is called ‘A Sustainable Development Economy’. The pavilion will feature stands dedicated to the development of the region’s agribusiness, its export potential, the interactive installation ‘The Development of the Gas Chemical Cluster in Amur Region,’ and a virtual tour of popular tourist destinations.
Zabaikalsky Krai will showcase its potential in an exposition titled ‘Zabaikalsky Krai – Aiming Upward’. Visitors to the pavilion will enjoy learning about the region's investment projects, mini-museums, and exhibition of paintings by Zabaikalsky masters, among other attractions.
‘Green Business – Green Islands’ is the theme of the exposition organized by Sakhalin Region. The region will focus on its investment projects, the oil and gas industry, and environmental projects. The pavilion will feature four photo zones, a healthy bar, and a stage for performances by Sakhalin artists.
The Jewish Autonomous Region will present an exhibition titled ‘Rainbow Bridge,’ where the region will showcase its investment projects, tourism potential, and regional cuisine.
Chukotka Autonomous Area has named its exhibition ‘Chukotka: On Border between Humans and the Arctic’. Guests and EEF participants will learn about tourism and industry in the region and will also be able to take an immersive tour of a car decorated as a ship and open an interactive door to Chukotka.
The exposition ‘To the Future with Yakutia’ is being prepared by the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). It will feature areas dedicated to the federal subject’s partner companies, a platform for pitch sessions, and an area for the Republic's priority socioeconomic development projects. There will also be a stage dedicated to concerts and showings of Yakut films.
Magadan Region will present itself as a territory of big prospects. Its pavilion will include a presentation of its regional development plan until 2024, Magadan’s Marine Facade project, and its tourism potential. Visitors to the pavilion will be able to take part in a master class on panning for gold, attend performances by the Ener Northern Folk Song and Dance Ensemble, learn about the art of bone carving, and create their own traditional craft object.
The central area of the ‘Far East Street’ exposition will feature the ‘Far Eastern Village’ exposition, where visitors will learn about the most interesting projects being implemented in the Far Eastern hectares and will include a fair where they can purchase products made on those hectares. Visitors to the fish market will be able to sample the cuisines of Far Eastern regions.
This will also be the first year that the exhibition will feature vehicles from the Aurus Senat serial production line. Visitors will get to see two models: the Aurus Senat sedan and the hydrogen-powered Aurus Senat sedan.
At the ‘Sport is a Norm of Life’ pavilion hosted by the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation, visitors will learn about various sports federations and new types of sports, sports training centres, Russian sports universities and schools, attend a GTO (the Russian acronym for ‘Ready for Labor and Defense’) museum and meet sports standards, and try out VR sports games, cyber sports, a laser range, and tabletop sports games. Dedicated screens will display the achievements of Russian athletes and announce the major sports events that will be held in Russia.
The exhibition’s sports programme will also include a sailing regatta for Platu 25 Class vessels, and the Far Eastern Games Spartakiad for teams in the Far Eastern Federal District, featuring sports such as mini-football, basketball, mass wrestling, table tennis, chess, and kettlebell lifting.
Far East Street will also host a daily concert programme featuring creative collectives from the federal subjects of the FEFD.
“‘Far East Street’ is a key part of the Eastern Economic Forum cultural programme. The exhibition has proven itself to be an effective way of establishing humanitarian contacts and familiarizing Forum guests and Primorye residents with the diverse regions of the FEFD. This is a unique event, not just in the Far East, but in Russia in general,” said Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Deputy Chairman and Executive Secretary of the Eastern Economic Forum Organizing Committee Anton Kobyakov.
The exhibition will be open to Forum participants on 2–4 September, and will be open to Vladivostok’s residents and guests on 5–6 September. A social day is scheduled for 7 September. Approximately 50,000 people attended the ‘Far East Street’ exhibition in 2019.
