Construction of Shipyard in Bolshoy Kamen to Be Considered at EEF 2021

В рамках ВЭФ-2021 будет рассмотрено строительство верфи в Большом Камне

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting on 5 July with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov during which they discussed the development and diversification of military-industrial complex products, including in the Far East.

Borisov informed Putin that construction is continuing on the Zvezda shipbuilding complex at the shipyard at Bolshoy Kamen Bay in the Primorsky Territory and that a dry dock has already been built.

“We really hope that you will be able to see this with your own eyes at the Eastern Economic Forum. A new icebreaker, the super-powerful Lider, has already been built there, gas carriers are being built, and everything is in full swing,” Borisov said.

Construction on the shipyard in Bolshoy Kamen Bay began back in 2009. The ceremonial launch of the facility took place on 1 September 2016 in Putin’s presence.

The Zvezda shipbuilding complex is an anchor resident of the Bolshoy Kamen shipyard in the Primorsky Territory. The first large-capacity shipbuilding shipyard in Russia is being built at the plant. In the coming years, it will be home to Russia’s largest civil shipbuilding shipyard that is capable of producing a line of medium- and large-tonnage vessels and marine equipment, including tankers, gas carriers, drilling platform components as well as supply and seismic survey vessels.

The 6th Eastern Economic Forum will be held in Vladivostok on 24 September 2021.
