Among the events set to take place at the upcoming Made in Russia International Forum on 9 December is a roundtable entitled «The Regions Speak. Governors’ Master Class. Best Practices». The Forum, which will be held in Moscow, has been organized by the Russian Export Center and the Roscongress Foundation.
The REC’s press office has announced that the main theme of the Forum, which this year will take place online, is «Challenges of the new decade».
Participants will include heads of Russian and international companies, national and regional government bodies, Russian banks, regional export support centres, industry associations and organizations, business media outlets, and leading experts. Together, they will discuss the key trends set to affect economic development and exports over the coming decade.
New business solutions aimed at expanding export operations will be unveiled at the event, as will the one-stop shop information system. There will also be master classes on exporting and identifying potential buyers abroad.
«The Regions Speak. Governors’ Master Class. Best Practices» is scheduled to begin at 13:45 [T1] Moscow time. It will focus on the role of regional governments in boosting the export sector and implementing the Regional Export Standard 2.0 — an export strategy for the regions. Participants will share their experience in putting together regional export teams and developing regional support tools. They will also discuss the role of a region’s brand in aiding an exporter.
The roundtable will feature both Russian and international speakers, including Anton Alikhanov, Governor of Kaliningrad Region; Alexander Brechalov, Head of the Udmurt Republic; Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan; Veronika Nikishina, General Director [T2] of the Russian Export Center; Vasily Orlov, Governor of Amur Region; and Svetlana Chupsheva, General Director of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives to Promote New Projects. It will be moderated by Andrey Badin, General Director of Project Services.
«This will be a slightly unusual roundtable. It will not consist of dry reports on the growth of the export sector in various regions of Russia. Instead, we are putting together a master class given by regional leaders. They will provide first-hand accounts of their region’s best practices, as well as of the difficulties that were encountered and the ways in which they were overcome. Of course, Russia is a vast country, and we should not try to find a single universal solution to the issues faced by each individual region. That said, we are identifying and implementing best regional practices. We will cover in detail the numerous beneficial practices that already exist. These include success stories in e-commerce, developing an export infrastructure, and building a strong regional brand. We will also talk about ways of taking a successful practice in a particular region, and reproducing it across a larger scale,» said REC General Director Veronika Nikishina.
