The final declaration adopted at the first Russia—Africa Summit and Economic Forum (Sochi, October 2019) included the establishment of a new regular dialogue mechanism: the Russia—Africa Partnership Forum, led by a Secretariat. The central event of the Partnership Forum is the second Russia—Africa Summit, which will be held in 2022.
The Russia—Africa Partnership Forum Secretariat and the Association of Economic Cooperation with African Countries will be holding a presentation in Moscow on 9 September at 16:00. The event is organized and will be held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, together with the Association of Economic Cooperation with African Countries and the Roscongress Foundation.
Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Mikhail Bogdanov, Ambassador-at-Large and Head of the Secretariat of the Russia—Africa Partnership Forum Oleg Ozerov, Rossotrudnichestvo Head Yevgeny Primakov, Director of the Institute for African Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences Irina Abramova, and Roscongress Foundation Chairman of the Board and CEO Alexander Stuglev will discuss the Secretariat’s objectives and its significance to the continued development of multilateral partnerships between Russia and African countries.
The creation of the Association of Economic Cooperation with African Countries is an important advancement in the effective and efficient organization of further events in the Russia—Africa track. Head of the Association of Economic Cooperation with African Countries Alexander Saltanov will discuss the Association’s objectives and its work within the framework of the Secretariat.
The event will also include the signing of a partnership agreement between the Roscongress Foundation and the Association of Economic Cooperation with African Countries.
