Russian Federation Council Deputy Chairwoman Galina Karelova has been appointed as head of the panel of judges of the Innosocium National Contest of Social Projects.
The Federation Council previously joined the contest as a partner by providing support for the ‘Taking Care of Seniors’ category, which will features projects by students that aim to support senior citizens who are particularly vulnerable to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
“Today, in the face of new challenges, it is particularly important to support young people in their desire to be actively involved in solving the most socially significant problems. Their creative approach and ability to find innovative solutions can generate new and interesting ideas in the social sphere. The contest aims to draw students’ attention to the development of social projects, develop the skills they need for this, and also disseminate the effective experience of social design in the student community”, Galina Karelova said.
The panel of judges also includes Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Gulnaz Kadyrova, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection Olga Batalina, and Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Telecommunications, and Mass Media Lyudmila Bokova.
The number of judges in the Innosocium contest has thus been increased to ten. They also include: Yelena Marinina, Deputy CEO of the Roscongress Foundation and Director of the Innosocium Foundation; Fatima Mukhomejan, Deputy Director of the ‘Art, Science and Sport’ Charitable Foundation; Maria Dronova, Director for Relations with State Authorities and Charitable Activities at EVRAZ; Daria Maslovskaya, HR Director at Royal Canin for Russia and Belarus (Mars division); Yelena Myakotnikova, Strategic Director at the Agency for Strategic Initiatives; and Roman Karmanov, First Deputy General Director of Komsomolskaya Pravda Publishing House.
“It is an enormous honour for us that Galina Nikolayevna has agreed to head the panel of judges at the Innosocium contest. Such trust indicates that our initiative to attract talented youth to solve pressing social issues is supported at the highest level of the government. Over the two years of its existence, the contest has truly become an even more respected and substantial platform, and the level of competition has increased. This can be seen in the number and quality of the projects that have been announced. We understand that we still have a lot of work ahead of us to choose the most worthy ones and help them get implemented for the benefit of society and our country. To implement the plan, it is extremely important to combine the efforts of the government, business as well as public and charitable organizations”, Yelena Marinina said.
The panel will determine the winners in five categories by 26 May 2020. To date, the 635 projects that have been submitted for the contest have been shortlisted to 25 projects:

The contest is organized by the Innosocium Social Communications Development Centre and the ‘Art, Science and Sport’ Charitable Foundation.
The goal of the contest is to draw attention to urgent socially significant problems and ways to solve them, to identify and encourage talented students to develop and implement social projects, to develop the skills they need for this, and to disseminate the effective experience of social design in the student community.
