Winner of At-Home Super League challenged a Guinness World Record holder

23 April 2020
Победитель «Домашней суперлиги» бросил вызов рекордсмену Книги рекордов Гиннесса

The winner of the first day of the At-Home Super League, an online burpee tournament organized by the Roscongress Foundation and Telesport Media, is the holder of European Nations Cup in free style wrestling Murad Nukhkadiev, who did 41 burpees in a minute. Olympic Judo Champion Arsen Galstyan took the second place with 38 burpees, and two-time luge World Champion Roman Repilov was third with 37 burpees.

«I do a lot of crossfit, so I’m no stranger to burpees. At first, I looked at it as entertainment, but when I saw that football and sumo guys do 35 repetitions, I started taking it seriously. I was to make a debut in MMA in April, but it was postponed due to the pandemic. Everybody wants to compete. So it would be interesting to participate in an online tournament organized by such a well-known company. I think it was a great idea. The guest of the programme was Guinness World Record holder Igor Kim who did 4555 burpees in 12 hours. I challenge him, and I’m sure I will take one minute off his time!» said Murad Nukhkadiev.

Among the participants of the online tournament were 2018 Olympics skeleton medallist Nikita Tregubov, two-time snowboard World Champion Dmitry Loginov, Greco-Roman wrestling World Champion Stepan Maryanyan, two-time beach soccer World Champion Anton Shkarin, Rugby Europe International Championships medallist Alexey Shcherban, World and European sumo champion Konstantin Abdula-Zade. Eduard Bezuglov, the chief doctor of the Russian national football team, was the chief referee of the competition.

On 23 April at 19:00, the women’s tournament of the At-Home Super League will begin, featuring four-time World Champion in rhythmic gymnastics Aleksandra Soldatova, 2018 Olympics medallist in cross-country skiing Natalya Nepryayeva, 2016 Olympic medallist in freestyle wrestling Valeria Koblova, 2019 World Snowboarding Championship medallist Natalia Soboleva, a prize-winner of the World Cup in volleyball Daria Pilipenko, World Cup stage in skeleton prize-winner Yulia Kanakina, winner of the EHF Handball Cup Galina Gabisova, medallist of the Russian Basketball Championship Katerina Keyru and a 2020 Youth Olympics skier Dariya Nepryaeva.

Online broadcast of the At-Home Super League is available on the Roscongress Foundation website and the Roscongress TV YouTube channel, Tele-sport.ru website and the Telesport Media public on Odnokassniki social network.
