The nationwide #WeStayHomeForYou
campaign starts on 11 April 2020. Organizers invite people to post their video appeals
to doctors who are now fighting for lives of hundreds of people or to share
their ways to make use of their time at home during self-isolation. This campaign
was initiated by the Roscongress Foundation and Content Foundation with support
from the World Health Organization and Ministry of Health of the Russian
Federation.
This campaign has already involved
actors Alexander Oleshko, Anton Filipenko, and Dmitry Palamarchuk, as well as
Irakli, a signer and radio host, and others. In the video address of actress Yulia
Peresild, she cooks dinner with her children and her daughter performs a song.
Elena Dementieva, a famous Russian athlete, plays balloon tennis with her family
at home.
“This time of hardship calls for
everybody to embrace their personal responsibility and unite their efforts for the
fight. While healthcare professionals are on the line battling coronavirus, we must
take existing measures seriously and self-isolate. At the same time, we should remain
physically active and stick to healthy eating while we stay home. We can only win if we support each other, and it
is important to get this message across,” shared Alexander Stuglev, CEO of the
Roscongress Foundation.
“Our health is mainly determined by our actions.
Now, our actions should involve minimizing our social contacts to keep our ourselves
and our dear ones safe. This will help us interrupt the chain and stop the
spread of coronavirus. At the same time, even in this difficult situation it is
vital to perceive self-isolation as an opportunity to discover something new or
get back to something you liked but never had the time for. Invest this time in
your family and self-improvement,” said Vladimir Vinokur, a comedian and signer,
People’s Artist of the RSFSR, who took part in the campaign.
