A meeting recently took place in Moscow between Advisor to the President
of the Russian Federation Anton Kobyakov and Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of the United Mexican States to the Russian Federation Norma
Pensado Moreno.
Among the topics discussed were the development of trade and economic
ties, collaboration between Russia and Mexico on holding multilateral events, and partnership encompassing
regional associations and business organizations.
«Through fostering trade and economic ties, Russia and Mexico will be
able to strengthen bilateral dialogue and work more effectively on implementing
agreements that are currently in place. Whats more, it will help spur mutually
beneficial cooperation with new partners. We have a keen interest in expanding
our partnership in order to implement our plans in the cultural, humanitarian,
and economic spheres,» said Kobyakov.
«This year marks the 130-year anniversary of the establishment of
diplomatic relations between our nations. We plan to commemorate this date with
an event in Russia,» said Ambassador Pensado.
Discussions also focused on increasing collaboration between the
Roscongress Foundation and business associations in Mexico. The Mexican
Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology (COMCE) became a
partner of the Roscongress Foundation in 2018. Since that time, it has
consistently helped to promote the Foundations events in the Mexican business
community. In addition, the two individuals looked into the possibility of
establishing a partnership between the Roscongress Foundation and Impulso
Económico Global. The latter organization, which forms part of Mexicos
Secretariat of Foreign Affairs, was founded at the beginning of 2020 as the
main office responsible for boosting Mexican economic growth on the global
market. As new business organizations from Mexico join the Roscongress
Foundations international partner network, so additional opportunities will be
created for the Foundation to hold events across Latin America. This will build
upon the RussiaLatin America forums which took place in Uruguay in 2016, and
Cuba in 2018.
