Buryatia Pavilion Named Best at Far East Street Exhibition During EEF 2019

6 December 2019
Павильон Бурятии стал лучшим на выставке «Улица Дальнего Востока» в рамках ВЭФ-2019

The Pavilion of the Republic of Buryatia was named the best regional exposition at the Far East Street exhibition, which took place in Vladivostok on 38 September as part of the 5th Eastern Economic Forum. This decision was made by the EEF Organizing Committee.

The winning pavilion was decorated in the Buryat national style using images of Lake Baikal. Guests had an opportunity to learn about projects being implemented in the Buryatia Advanced Special Economic Zone and the region’s cultural traditions and also visit an exhibition of jade products. Ka-226T and Mi-171A2 helicopters produced by Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant were displayed in front of the exposition.

The Primorye Territory pavilion designed in the form of a sea shell came in second. Visitors learned about promising infrastructure projects in Vladivostok and the concept for the development of Russky Island.

Third place went to the Magadan Region pavilion, which was designed in the form of a stylized letter ‘M’. The pavilion used multimedia technologies to show guests the unique nature of Kolyma and held a unique cultural event called the ‘Golden Festival’, whose participants compete in gold washing.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev said the Far East Street exhibition was not only one of the highlights of the Eastern Economic Forum’s cultural programme, but also a platform for attracting investors and discussing projects. «This is a unique opportunity for the regions. It’s difficult to imagine where else you could present the region on a platform with so many countries, guests, and company leaders. Not a single region has such opportunities in the Far East and, perhaps, in Russia too, except for Moscow and St. Petersburg. This is important and interesting», Trutnev said.

This year marked the first time that eleven regions of the Far Eastern Federal District participated in the Far East Street exhibition and presented their potential and achievements in the economy, culture, and tourism. The exhibition was visited by 48,000 people over a period of six days.

«The Far East Street exhibition is a key event in the Eastern Economic Forum’s cultural programme. The exhibition plays an important role in terms of developing humanitarian contacts. The exposition gets better and better each year, and its diverse formats and multimedia technologies enable Russian and the Forum’s foreign guests as well as Primorye residents to learn about the unique diversity of the Far East regions», said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the Russian President and Executive Secretary of the Eastern Economic Forum Organizing Committee.

Federal ministries and departments also presented their expositions at the exhibition, and an extensive cultural and sporting programme was prepared for the guests. A Russian-Japanese Sumo House was set up for the first time and there have been proposals to make it an annual event.

The 6th Eastern Economic Forum will
