The World Energy Council (WEC) held meetings on 2527 November to discuss preparations for
the 25th World Energy Congress on 2427 October
2022 in St. Petersburg. Events in London were a
follow-up to negotiations with World Energy Council Chairman Jean-Marie Dauger.
The WEC chairmans visit was timed to coincide with the Russian Energy Week International
Forum, which took place this October in Moscow.
The meetings were attended by the World Energy
Councils representatives, members of the Organizing Committee of the 25th
World Energy Congress as well as the heads of specialized divisions of the
Roscongress Foundation in charge of preparations for the event. The Roscongress
delegation was headed by the Foundations CEO and Chairman of the Board
Alexander Stuglev.
During the meetings in the UK capital, the World
Energy Councils officials discussed the different stages of collaboration
between the Roscongress Foundation and the Councils London Secretariat as part
of preparations for the 25th World Energy Congress. Including,
the terms for participation in the Congress, the preparation of the main venue,
drafting of a business programme as well as plans to promote the 25th
anniversary of the event. They devoted special attention to the experience
gained from the 24th World Energy Congress that was held in Abu
Dhabi, UAE, in September 2019.

The working meetings on
preparations for the 25th World Energy Congress were held in London
on the eve of the 5th Russian-British Business Forum, which was
organized by the Roscongress Foundation and the Trade Delegation of the Russian
Federation in the United Kingdom. The event took place on 27 November 2019 at
the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in Westminster. The Forum was attended by more
than 1,000 British and Russian business leaders, government officials,
development institutions, and international organizations.
