Участники XVI Межрегионального форума сотрудничества России и Казахстана обсудят возможности кооперации в сфере промышленности и технологий

Development of the real economy is clearly a top priority for any major country. Russia and Kazakhstan have a well-developed industrial sector and see great prospects in this area. And in the modern world, industrial development is impossible to imagine without modern technology. How can Russia and Kazakhstan help each other on this journey, and what are the benefits of cooperation between the two countries? These and other topics will be discussed by participants of the panel themed Prospects for Cooperation in Industry and Technology, which will take place on November as part of the 16th Russia—Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum. The Forum is co-organised by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the Roscongress Foundation.

The Department of Europe, North America, CIS and Multilateral Economic Cooperation of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade is overseeing preparations for the discussion from the Russian side, with Vladimir Dozhdev, Director of the Ministry’s Department of Digital Technologies, announced to be moderating the panel. Large companies and organisations from Russia and Kazakhstan have been invited to attend the panel, including OSNOVA Group, MIR, RTI, Novomet, Russian Copper Company, Altynalmas, Kazzinc, the National Centre on Complex Processing of Mineral Raw Materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan Industry and Export Centre, and the Industrial Development and Industrial Safety Committee at the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

«In the context of Industry 4.0, which has clearly become a major economic trend in many developed countries, effective digital transformation of industry is becoming a key growth driver and a significant driver of competitiveness in international markets not only for individual businesses, but for entire national economies. Historically, cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan has played a strategically important role for both nations, and leveraging the combined potential of our two countries in developing digital economy will provide the necessary synergy and strengthen their competitive position in global markets. We view Kazakhstan as our partner in the digital transformation of industry, and are open to cooperation and ready for joint mutually beneficial projects,» said Vladimir Dozhdev. And, of course, when designing joint projects we need to consider the other economy’s specifics."

Adoption of modern technology is essential in all areas of manufacturing as optimising operations, manufacturing products to global standards, or maintaining information security are impossible without it. Discussion topics will include application of blockchain technology in the public sector. Participants will discuss the prospects of using blockchain and whether it can protect information of government agencies. Representatives of MIR will share their experience of digital projects in the energy sector and discuss how their learnings can be applied in Kazakhstan. Application of innovative technology, launching high-tech production in various industries, including in oil lifting, and other topics will be covered by experts from Russia and Kazakhstan. The panel’s main focus will be transfer of innovative technologies, including ways to properly arrange for experience sharing, applicability of projects from Russia and Kazakhstan in neighbouring countries, and the expected benefits of technology adoption.

The 16th Russia—Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum focusing on Topical Issues Related to the Development of Cross-Border Cooperation will take place in Omsk on 6–7 November 2019. For more details on the event, please visit the website.
